Classroom News

  • Students bring home 2 books each night for the 100 book challenge program.   Please listen to your child each night, sign their sheet, and return the books the next day. Please color the night's circle.
  • Scholastic Book orders will be distributed monthly.  You may order on-line or turn in the order form and a check to me and I will send it in.
  • Please make sure your child has his/her H.O.M.E. Binder in school each day to help ensure that important messages get to and from school.

  • If your child is going to be picked up or needs to ride a different bus, please send a note to school so that I can forward the information to the school office.  If your child does not bring a note, he/she will be sent home on his/her regular bus.
  • I am looking forward to a wonderful year with your child.  If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call the Mowrey office at 762-1191, ext. 1600 to leave a message with our secretary.  I will return your call as soon as possible.

  • Please work on your child's addition and subtraction facts, nightly.  Flashcards can be bought at the Dollar Store, or their are great apps on the IPAD or games on the computer.  Check out My Links section for some good games.  Timed tests will be given every Friday.

P.S.

We will be using dry erase boards quite often.  If your child gets the marker on their clothes you may have trouble getting it out.  Yes, I am speaking from experience.  After a lot of experimenting with my son's clothes I found a solution!  :)

Murphy's Oil Soap  Douse the stain on the outside of the garment with Murphy's Oil Soap. Lay it out on a washcloth or towel and scrub from the inside with a toothbrush. Lift garment frequently to check and move it to fresh spots on the towel or washcloth until the color no longer shows up on the garment or towel/washcloth.

I have also had some success using a Clorox Magic Eraser.
